JOEY HILL

joeyhillheadshotsmallName and date of your entry into this life?: Joey Hill - January 27th, 1986 in Cincinnati, Ohio

How many years have you been riding?: Probably been riding for about 9 and a half years or 10

If you could spend one week with unlimited access to ride one city what would it be?: If it was street, it’d probably be Baton Rouge, Louisiana cause the street there seem so amazing and the locals are really cool. If it was for park, probably Woodward because they have like every kind of ramp and progression there is amazing. If it was trails, definitely my home town at the Failure Compound. The Beard and Frank have that place dialed. Frank’s a mad man!

What is your favorite spot to ride?: Probably Rays MTB in Cleveland, Ohio

Who is your favorite rider?: I have a few and they’re all my friends, Jeremiah Smith, Kevin “Frog” Spanier, Nick “Gym Shorts” Digeroloma, Brian “Sped” Hinkle, Ricky Moseley, and now Alex Magallan.

If you could choose where would you want to go with BMX?: I would definitely want to be on of the top contenders at Dew Tour. It would open so many windows in life. It would mean invites to X games, traveling around the world, open opportunities for bigger sponsors, just so much. It would also put money in the bank which would mean no worries for me and my family. It would also mean public announcement on national TV of who i would like to represent the most, Jesus Christ.

How many marshmallows can you hold in your mouth?: I dunno if I’ve tried that any time soon, but if i did try, probably like 300

What is your favorite trick to do at a demo?: My favorite trick to do at a show is over clicking a turndown Chris Doyle style :) feels so good. And fronties are always a good crowd mind-blower cause they usually never see it in person, so those are good too.

If you could have one superpower what would it be?: Definitely to be able to do anything i want on my bike. Learning a new trick is an amazing feeling.

What is your current superpower?: Definitely not doing anything i want on my bike, so probably smashing people in rap battles.

Name your favorite food gangsta!: I love seafood a lot.

Biggest influences?: Brad Bennett or Bobby Joiner because they always remind me I need to keep my life on track with Jesus. In riding my biggest influence is probably Matt Bischoff. He has helped me so much with riding for Failure and riding the Failure compound. And he is in his 30’s and still shredddsss.

Sponsors?: Failure Bikes, Alienation BMX, Misled Clothing

Any thank you’s or shout outs?: First and foremost, God for giving me the life that i have. Failure Bikes for helping me out through everything with riding, Alienation for hooking me up and being legit dudes always caring about their riders, Misled since we’ve been friends since day one and hooking me up. Parents for always supporting what i want in life, always backed me up and still do. Any friends that i have who i always shred with. And Jenn for being an amazing mom to my son and helping me through every part of life :)
