Have you ever had a website crash completely? Outcast BMX did and now we are updating. More like retrodating. We had to load and older more stable version of our website.
Yes, we are still up in running in 2014. Yes we are still traveling and actually had 2 shows in January, Burrrr…
Looks like the old theme was less stable than believed. That brings me to my point, when you try something new and it keeps failing, you have to check the source code. It seems that there are thousands of ways to build your life. When it gets confusing or just isn’t working it’s always best to go back to a more stable environment. Prayer, reading and getting alone with God is a good way to check the code your life is built on.
Check out the new edit from Outcast BMX rider Andrew Sandage, complete with a ridiculous intro of wipeouts.
And, kids, don’t forget to wear your helmet!
When we pulled up to this event we could not help but to notice the circus theme and thought how convenient it was to have Scott Ditchfield at this event with us! Not that Scott belongs in a circus (haha) but that the amount of skill involved in flatland riding could easily be transferred into a circus act! The people at this show were in awe when they saw him ride! It was especially a blessing to have him on this trip because it was really windy that day which made it very hard for Tyler and Lucas to throw the bigger tricks over the box jump, but that didn’t stop them from pulling huge spins and flips. Despite the wind and the cold air, our shows went well and Tyler and Scott both got on the mic with me and shared the gospel with the people in attendance! This was an amazing day full of crazy riding and awesome speaking!
Stephens City, VA
This show was our last stop before we headed back to Nashville for a few days and the guys were definitely feeling it. We had done about 2 weeks of riding before this show and the road was taking its toll on the guys. Everything seemed like it was going to be relatively relaxed until we started seeing people pouring into this parking lot and we could tell that there was a lot of excitement in the air! This is always a good thing because if you are ever at one of our shows, you will know that the riders feed off of the crowds’ energy and they ate it all up that night! All of the guys were crazy pumped to ride and they threw down hard for everyone. The night couldn’t have gotten any better until we went out to dinner with the host that night and we all ate some serious Italian food and soon went into a carb coma! The last couple weeks were super busy and some rest was needed but everyone was excited to get through the next few days and hit the road again!
There is always something new at every show, but when we pulled up to our event in Plainfield, the guys were pleasantly surprised to see an entire skatepark set up in this church’s parking lot; literally an entire skatepark full of quarters, vert walls, rails, banks and transfers! We knew that this was going to be an awesome demo with our ramps set up next to the rest of them and Brandon, Lucas and Tyler definitely went to work on that set of ramps. The guys are always excited to ride their bikes for people but this event was extra amazing because of the variety they would be able to ride. It’s easy to say that everyone who was watching was impressed because the tricks and transfers that were done would make even the most experienced bike riders get on their feet!
I especially enjoyed this event because I was able to share the mic with Brandon McGregor. He has been stepping up huge in our events and I am always excited when I get to hear the other guys share their hearts with people. This event was the epidomy of what an Outcast event should be because there was killer riding and awesome witnessing. We were able to connect with a bunch of locals whom we hope can stay in touch with us! This was certainly an event that all of us will remember for some time to come!
The Douglasville, GA events were amazing! The guys are always pumped when we know that there are school assemblies involved in our show schedules. We were able to visit 3 Douglasville-area middle schools where we put on some small demonstrations and spoke to the kids about positive lifestyle choices! The schools all responded very well and we were looking forward to seeing some familiar faces that night at our large show.
This show was in a mall parking lot and we were pretty intimidated when we saw thousands of chairs lined up facing a gigantic stage where we would be performing but when the time came and we were about to do our show, our nervousness turned into excitement when we looked out from behind our trailer and saw about 5,000 people having a good time waiting for us to begin. We all realized that we had a crazy chance to do some serious witnessing to an area where Christ is present but not to the extent he should be!
Brandon, Lucas and Tyler killed the shows as usual and the crowd was on their feet for the majority of the show, especially when Lucas threw out his tailwhip combos on the box jump, Tyler boosted huge 360 turndowns and Brandon floated his backflips over the box. As I was speaking, I asked for a show of hands for anyone who was able to see us earlier that day in their schools and I was happy to see a flood of hands! I was pumped that so many would choose to spend that night with us. That just fueled my fire as far as my message went and I was able to share my heart with thousands that day. I knew that God was doing work in Douglasville! The entire day was incredible and we all are looking forward to the next time we get to hang out in Douglasville, GA!
